I was going to suggest the Flint as well, but Chris beat me to it. Near Thomaston the access is pretty good. I haven't been in the area for a few months so don't know what the water level might be.

That's funny JB the river in the picture is named the little river, I think every state has several rivers by that name. If you go fish that river take pics and let us know how it is. Here is another pic of my river. runningboar, That looks like the amazon! LOL It looks very nice.

I would rather be on the river than almost anyplace on earth, no sounds but nature, no other people, no worrys. I often pack a lunch and me and my wife pull over on a sandbar and cook and swim, maybe thow out a pole for catfish but generally just relax. If I win the lottery I am going to hunt, fish and canoe swamps and rivers for the rest of my life. Thumbs up if I had one ;D

Lake lanier is looking real bad right now, down 7 feet already! Lakes out here are really low too. Article in the paper yesterday... one lake close to here all the boat ramps are high and dry... can't even put in. Picture showed a dock that was probably 100 feet from the water's edge.

My Dad was a Lake Patrolman, sorta like a Highway Partolman only on water. He had about as much time on the water as he could stomach and so the Father/Son fishing trips were few and far between. He never taught me to fish as a result and I have no passion for it. My son likes to watch fishing shows on TV so I think I need to learn so I can get him out for some fishing. My Brother-in-Law is an avid fisherman though so maybe we can get him to show us the ropes. ;D
Catch and release I guess, that's all I ever see on TV.
Love to eat fish, any kind, cooked any way.
My wife recently discovered that she is allergic to fish though so if I get any it is at a restaurant.

I 'm a fishing nut but my shooting gets in the way. I fish ultralight spinning but for the last 6 or seven years have switched on to light fly tackle almost completely. I really enjoy a day of bream fishing with a 7 or 71/2 ft. 4 wt . I tie my own "bugs" out of craft foam and deer or elk hair with rubber legs . A killer of a lure . Once a friend of mine and I were fishing and when we fish or do any thing we compete ; I caught and released 118 fish to his 76 in about a 5 hour period. These weren't big at all , some were bait size ; but if it bites, has fins , pulls back and swims its a fish ! If this weather ever cools off some I need to scratch the itch . Later ; kirby001

I like fishing but shooting for the last couple years has taken more time. I'm heading for the BWCA this weekend and I'll be chasing the smallies around. Is there anything better than catching smallmouth on topwater bait??? I think not. Next favorite is using tube jigs.
Trout, crappie, sunnies, small and largemouth bass, northern pike are the main fish I go after. When I'm feeling lazy I'll go the river and fish for redhorse, suckers, carp and any other bottom feeder.

Squa fish (suckers) are really fun to catch. If things are going super slow, I'll put a worm or some stink bait on the ol' hook and catch me one. Has anybody here eaten 'em before? I'd be kinda interesting to know how they taste like; trash fish is all they are.

I am hittin the river on Sunday, it is supposed to rain here on Saturday, maybe the river will be up a bit and stained and I will be posting a pic of that lunker that I never seem to catch. Last time I was out I hooked a dang nice bass that broke off, that is what happens when you use light tackle though. Chris

The lure on the far left almost looks like the Z-Too I was talking about in my first post. That kills 'em here in ID. ;D

The square heads around here like to pickle, smoke or make lutefisk out of any of the trash fish. I have never tried any as there are better things to eat IMO. I let most of my fish go unless there is someone looking for a meal, I'm a catch and release guy. Before anybody gives me a lecture on the square head comment, I'm one of them.
