Now ya talking!!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Let's see , oh yea I got a new one. I am now a Henry owner. Sold the Ruger10/22 mag, nothing against the Ruger ,in fact a few weeks back, you couldn't have bought it from me!! The Henry is more to my liking for the type of huntin I do. It's also pretty darn accurate !! I'll have to get a pic or two of it this season ;D

What do you hunt with the magnum? Is that Mississippi? If so, where?

I would be interested in the best brand of 22 MAG you shoot-- I have a new addition in the form of a vintage S&W MDL 48, pictured elsewhere here and I am looking to see what she will like best. Never have fooled with the 22 mag much at all even though I have a couple. This gal shoots so well so far, I feel she deserves the best I can find.

It really depends on what your going to do with it, the remington v-max seems to be really good stuff but I keep coming back to winchester 40gr jhp for a do all round. There may be a round out there that is better suited for pistols, but someone else will have to chime in if they know if there is or not.

If your looking for a good mag I'd go CZ, I've owned some of the others marlins, mossbergs, and a savage. They were good hunting guns and aas accurate as any mag I've shot. But that CZ is just sweet as pie she treats me right, and this girl will see her first season this year. and a 100 yard prove it target to match, with remington V-max. 1 in the eye 1 in the brain and 1 in the 10 for good measure, don't need to shoot groups with maggie cause she hits where I aim her in the first place ;D

What do you hunt with the magnum? Is that Mississippi? If so, where? Charlotte, squirrels for the most part. I won't pass on a rabbit when the opportunity arises. Yes I'm in North Mississippi between Oxford and Tupelo. Are you in ms? Ron

I've been looking for a CZ American with extra nice figure in the wood, but just haven't found one to my liking. My get a Trainer and go with a Richards AAA stock...or break down an get a Cooper custom classic.
Have a Marlin with one of Tuck's red lam. stocks that balances and shoots super with Win 40HP's. Have a Win 9422M that shoots sub-1" with Win 34 Supremes, but usually run the Win 40HP's through it.
All-in-all the 22mag is my favorite all around rimfire round for hunting.

I've got a .22WMR Volquartsen. It loves Remington Premiers, Winchester Supremes, and CCI-TNT's, in just about that order. It can easily hold 1/2" or less at 100 yds on a relatively calm day. It could probably do better, but I can't.

My 10/22M really likes the CCI MaxiMag JHPs, and my Remington 597M shoots best with Remington's Premier loading which is 33 grains IIRC.

Yea , most of the magnums that I've owned liked the Win. , not all though. Seems like every gun is a law unto itself. The Henry likes Rem 40 psp about the same as the Win. To be fair I haven't shot any game with the Rem.s so I can't offer any opinion to bullet performance with them. Know from experience the Win 40 jhps are TUFF !!!![/b]

I shot a armadello last night at about 40 yards with the remington v-max,he was going straight away from me.It went in right above his tail could not tell for sure where it exited because of all the blood and tore up meat everywhere. It really did a number on him.
