Good news from CCI, New 22magnum ammo on the way!

I heard on RFC that CCI was planning a new 22mag round, So I had to check for myself, here is the email:

Yes, our Rimfire R&D Engineer, Brett Olin has developed a new CCI 22 WMR
round that is due out in January of 2007. It has a poly tip 30gr. bullet
and will have a muzzle velocity of 2,200 fps. The CCI part number will
be #0073. We have had exceptional accuracy results in our testing with
this new cartridge. He has not provided a BC yet.

I do believe our Engineer did speak to a customer (a fellow who
frequents the popular "Rimfire Central" forum) and did discuss this new
cartridge with him at bit. Linda

I keep hearing around on the internet that CCI will be offering a new 30
grain 22WMR round.

I heard this from 2 people who claim to have spoken to someone at CCI
over the phone.

I also heard that The new ammo will be a ballistic tip much like the
remington 33 grain v-max.

Is this true?

If it is what is the B.C. on this new bullet and what velocity does it
achieve?

Can not wait, I hope it is consistantly consistant and that it is not too explosive.

This might not be the round for you, More than likely it will be THE most explosive round out there for the 22mag.

Much like the TNT, and remington V_max.

Sounds like they are trying to keep the 22mag on a level playing field with the HMR to me.

Yeah, I figured it would be explosive, but was hoping for a little controlled expansion.It will still be nice if it is more consistant than some of the rounds out there right now.
