I have not owned a Mark Series Ruger pistol since my daughter was born...she is 17 now so I don't worry about having handguns laying around, so I just bought this little honey.... The only disadvange is the grips are too small...and I did not realize that the 22/45 model does not have removable grips (The whole bottom of the weapon is one piece. ) So a little modification will be happening. I am going to make a compensator on my lathe/mill and I just got in a VQ sear and with rubber grips (Ordered before I realized there are no screw holes) should be here today... IT IS MOD TIME. Neverless, straight out of the box it performed well enough for me to qualify as expert in pistol (NRA) yesterday. I would have gone DE but ran out of sunlight. ;D

That is a slick looking pistol ruger22. Guess IU haven't looked at those in a long while. Is it polished stainless or nickel ?? Polymer base ??

Stainless....the entire gun under the barrel/receiver is one piece solid poly...which is slick looking, but has caused me one problem. I don't like the feel, so I ordered a heavy rubberlike 1-piece wrap around volquartsen grip with a thumb rest and mag release extension. Problem is (as I discovered) since it is one piece, there are no holes to mount the new grips...so...its off to the grinder & drill I go. Should look and feel great when I get done!

If you have a mill or are talented with a belt sander, grind off the pseudo grip panels and attach real 1911 grip panels. Not quite the same feel as steel but close.
