Sure will scotty. A 7mm mag has even power to kill 3 or 4 coyote's if you line them up right Scotty, I know you are itchin to get that killer out of the gun cabinet this year. I wont be using mine this year since I'm not going to Pa this to hunt over my favorite corn field. I'll give the ol' model 70 30-06 a work out this year, she's so much lighter than my savage to carry.

It could, but not sure. I patch my barrels until they are dry on all my guns. Yeah that makes sense. I have to make sure that whatever I'm doing I keep it consistant. ..pretty reasonable. I think if I go centerfire, I'll probably go larger. I used to have a lot of .223's, and I know a lot of folks use that for coyote, but I would probably opt for .243 or even a .270 and let my neighbors know I'm being careful not to shoot their cows. Since I'm not shooting them for fur, might as well really whollop them. NF

I shot @ 142 yds today, using a 3" circle. [Thats as far back as I can get from my 100 yd backstop without shooting through pipe-fence.]
For the first shot I held over about 4" and hit 2" high. Second shot, held half as high and hit right near the center! SO I'm thinking this is going to be a good session.
Then I adjusted my scope a few clicks up, and it was all downhill from there.
Interesting thing happened when I was sitting with my back against a tree. I had to torque a little to the right to get sight picture, and watched my shots group nicely to the left. It was interesting because I could feel it when I pulled the trigger and knew where it was going to go. Got a decent group out of it, even.
Best 5 shot for the day was just under 2".
A bench must be nice. I'm looking forward to building one before too long.
Going to put in another backstop; need more distance. Latest developments are showing a reall good opportunity shot @ 170 yds..[not going to be with a 22 mag though. ]
What is the best distance to zero a 22 mag for?
I'm thinking about sighting in tomorrow @ 125 yds. and seeing what thats like at various ranges..I might should have stuck to my 100 yd zero, but distance is starting to fascinate me, and I'm enjoying getting the feel for this little varmint rifle, and I've enjoyed this thread a lot.
