Found PDwight's new board by accident while scanning in the 24Hr Campfire. Glad to see another place to talk/read rimfires, especially since a 'select' group seems to be starting in.
I've been a scarce presence for a couple of years on RFC. I don't post much, because I don't compete, can no longer hunt, and most of my rf shooting is confined now to backyard sight tests with three old rifles, a Win. 72P, a Rem. 550-1, and a Mossberg 152 carbine. My brother in law is Picher, who is pretty well-known as a 'smith/customizer/competitor in benchrest rf shooting. I'm a bit older than he is, and take some pride in my belief that I fostered him along as a young shooter. One loves to see his students surpass him, as has happened in our case.
I love the older rifles...real steel and walnut. An impoverished youth made it impossible for me to enjoy them when the wine was new...but as an old duffer, I can now satisfy my long-ago enthusiasms.
