Always looking for an opportunity to show off my Suhl 150. Benchmark barrel 6 groove, 1:17 twist. Hoehn tunner. This rifle got me started in ARA sanctioned matches this year and I'm enjoying the heck out of it. Michael

OK, I've never done a mod and I've never used a kit. Hey jetgirl, they are not made from a kit but they were intended to be part of a sportsman's kit. You know "your old kit bag". These are Smith and Wesson's J frame .22s. They are often called Kit Guns. As to your question about the Marlin 60 stock stamping pattern. I don't think that it is any thing official. Just one of several style changes they went through in turning out a couple of million of these very popular auto loaders. My friend Monty, got one of these for his birthday in 1971. His has a squirrel worked into the pattern ;D

Suhl 150 original barrel, Hoehn 4000 tuner, McMillan benchrest stock, smithed by Lamon Loggins Here's what it can do at 50yds. Here's what it can do at 25yds. Jim Finn measured that group at .021ctc.

That would be the "Flux Capicitor" so he can travel back in time to change a shot that was off ;D
It is a scope level or more accuratly (good pun) a scope anti cant indicator so you shot placement is more consistant. When you start shooting the green monster at 50 yards it is critical to have one of these.
